A growing number of middle-class Americans expect to work for the rest of their lives
As retirement savings fall short and the cost of living continues to rise, many middle-class Americans are facing the harsh reality that they may never be able to retire. According to a recent survey conducted by the Federal Reserve, nearly a quarter of Americans don’t have any retirement savings, and those who do aren’t saving nearly enough to cover their expenses once they stop working.
For many middle-class Americans, the idea of retiring at 65 and enjoying their golden years is becoming nothing more than a pipe dream.
